Tring Brewery Brock

Tasting notes

Proof that traditional session beers don’t have to be bland. This light brown quaffing ale graces us with a hint of sweetness and caramel on the palate, with the dynamic duo of Challenger and Styrian Goldings hops imparting complimentary flavour, aroma and bitterness.

Food pairing

A no nonsense ale that sits well with no nonsense food. Bangers, mash
and a rich red onion gravy is just one of our recommendations.

Tring Brewery Citra Session

Tasting notes

Single-hopped session ale. Extra pale, straw-gold with aromas of citrus fruits, grapefruit and lychee. Session strength with a refreshing palate and crisp, fruity finish.

Tring Brewery Colley's Dog

Tasting notes

This dark ruby premium ale is all about the malt, and we’ve packed a lot into this brew. It’s nutty, it’s malty and full of body. An old school strong English bitter.

Food pairing

This full bodied beer is almost a meal in itself. Best to pair with flavour packed snacks – anything from pickles and pies to cheeses and chutneys.

Tring Brewery Death or Glory

Tasting notes

Don’t be fooled by the strength, this is one easy drinking beer. A rich, sweet barley wine with a heady, alcoholic nose and incredibly complex flavour profile. Brewed since 1994 by appointment to the Queens Royal Lancers. They’re tough enough to sink a few….are you?

Food pairing

Treat this beer like a bold red wine or port. Pair with red meats, mature cheeses and rich deserts containing chocolate, ginger or orange.

Tring Brewery Fanny Ebbs

Tasting notes

We’re not sure if Fanny Ebbs was a blonde but we know this beer is. It’s also amazingly crisp with very low bitterness and late citrus hop aroma from a combination of Saaz and Cascade varieties.

Food pairing

Let’s keep this simple. Hot summer day, pint of Fanny Ebbs and an assortment of pork scratchings, nuts and crisps. Done.

Tring Brewery Jimbob

Tasting notes

Low in alcohol but plenty of flavour describes this little amber beer. The use of Dextrin malt provides body and the platform to balance out potent Australian Galaxy hops.

Food pairing

Delicate flavours on this one – we’re going for carrot sticks, accompanied by a crushed pea and mint dip. Perfect for snacking and sipping.

Tring Brewery Mansion Mild

Tasting notes

A classic ruby dark mild, smooth like velvet, sweet and creamy, you’d be fooled into thinking we were talking about a chocolate box selection.

Food pairing

Pair with meats served with sweet sauce such as pork and apple, venison and redcurrant or fruit sponge puddings.

Tring Brewery Moongazing

Tasting notes

This red-amber hued ale has a well rounded late bitterness with grapefruit, mango and peach hop characteristics imparted by American Chinook and Citra. Rye crystal malt adds additional complexity to stimulate your senses.

Food pairing

The dominant citrus/grapefruit characteristics mean this beer sits well alongside Keralan seafood curries.

Tring Brewery Side Pocket

Tasting notes

It’s a toad not a frog! Unmistakable citrus and floral notes from only the best American Cascade hops balanced with a crisp dry finish make this straw coloured ale a fantastic session beer. All that flavour in a 3.6%. Oh Yes.

Food pairing

This sits very well alongside anything with big spicy flavours. The perfect partner to an aromatic jalfrezi or fiery enchiladas. Of course it drinks well on it’s own.

Tring Brewery Tea Kettle Stout

Tasting notes

A stout like no other. The antithesis of bitter Irish stouts, this is creamy, smooth with underlying chocolate notes imparted by generous amounts of roasted malts and oats. Pours with a dark body and ivory head. It’s a tall, dark handsome pint.

Food pairing

Great with game, mild cheeses and smoked meats. Whiz in a blender with 2 scoops of good quality vanilla ice cream for the ultimate milkshake.
